Yesterday was the first trial of my new stall design at the Backyard Market by Colette Lockett, an MA interiors student from Manchester. She got in touch with me months ago saying she had been searching for a designer with a similar a design style to design for and my work was perfect, which was great for me, as you can see from the images- they were taken on my phone so not amazing quality, but will have proper ones soon as took loads! She created partitions made from laser cut shapes and a fantastic angular shaped pop up table, I think it looked brilliant, theres a few things that we hadn't thought of like next time will have a black back drop and side behind so the shapes stand out to their fullest, but I still think it looked pretty cool! Very different to everything else :)

A couple of weeks ago I helped man the Kingston University, MA Fashion stand at TechTextil in Frankfurt. Showing a mixture of both current students and graduate work, including my poly_ light piece and Modu_gram film.

It was an interesting experience, showing design work, future fashion, materials and fabrications at a very trade based show, but got a lot of good response and positive feedback.

Fashion Phreaking is new form of objectifying and contextualizing ‘Smart Clothing and Intelligent Cloth’. To be smart you are knowledgeable, intelligent, sharp, gifted and able. Most ‘Smart Fashion’ is currently awkward, unwieldy, burdensome, weighty, clumsy and self-conscious, where sportswear is surging ahead. Fashion Phreaking gives fast fashion and accessories a new meaning by slowing fashion down. When Phreaking, Studio Nancy Tilbury side-grade apparel systems by making clothing more valuable and sustainable by integrating playful technologies. We apply conductive textile networks and soft switching into denim garments, a technique known as denim disruption, here we reform denim into digital skins designed to give fabrics and jewelry extending body communication to the viewer and wearer.

Studio Nancy Tilbury is a design laboratory based in London, UK. Our focus is digital and physical intimacy and the relationship to the body in the 21^st Century. We specialize in the fashioning of technologies and hybridizing fashion design with science. AMAZING Exhibit @ P3 Gallery London. The pieces are made from simply projected light patterns, but create some of the most visually stunning and breathtaking things I may have ever seen. It was amazing how just being in the space, moving in and around these light forms, overcame you with a feeling of calm and serene and how the pieces feel solid but couldn't be further from it.
Truly magnificent stuff!
